On Tuesday, June 25, 2019, the lecture “Serbian United Nations Delegates” was held in the Conference room of the Law Faculty of the University of Belgrade.

The guests of the lecture were the Director of the United Nations Association of Serbia, Ms Biljana Vukosavljevic and the Youth Delegates of the Republic of Serbia to the United Nations ( Serbian UN Youth Delegates / Omladinski delegati Srbije u UN ) in the 2018/2019 mandate, Tijana Čupić and Nikola Petrović. Ms Vukosavljević informed interested students about the Youth Delegate project, its creation and development. The United Nations Association of Serbia is the creator of the Youth Delegate project which was established in 2017, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Youth and Sport with the partnership of the Youth Association of associations “Novi Sad Youth Capital of Europe OPENS”, National Youth Council of Serbia and National Youth Office. Ms Vukosavljevic has also announced the forthcoming election of new delegates in the 2019/2020 term, which you will soon be able to find out more on our social networks!

Tijana Cupic and Nikola Petrović presented their interesting experiences and useful knowledge gained by working as youth delegates both in the country and at the sessions in the United Nations headquarters. In an interactive way, they were telling how important the role of youth delegate is and advised potential future candidates on how to prepare for the admission contest, as well as for the meetings and sessions within the mandates during which they should represent the voice of young people in our country. They also announced the launch of a petition to the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia for greater representation of young people in the Parliament.
