The UN Club delegation participated at the fifth edition of the Students’ Model United Nations (SMUN 2018) in Banja Luka, Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina from the 18th to the 22nd of October 2018.
The members of our Club took on some of the leading roles of this years’ jubilee edition of the aforementioned conference as well as the roles of delegates. Milena Nikolić, former President of the UN Club and the current member of the Supervisory Board took on the role of Director General whose main task was leading the Organizing team of the conference. She had the honor of moderating the Opening and the Closing ceremony and to officially declare SMUN 2018 open on the very first day and closed on the last. Nevena Bracanović, president of the MUN committee and Jovana Malinović, president of the Marketing commitee lead the Secretariat as the Secretary-General and Under-Secretary-General of the conference. Our three members were tasked with preparing the beginner delegates for their committee work whilst coordinating the chairpersons and the Organizing team. Natalija Beljić represented the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in the Human Rights Council where she discussed topics such as extreme radicalism and terrorism as well as accessibility and inclusion of persons with disabilities in urban development.
