The members of the United Nations Club of University of Belgrade Faculty of Law, Natalija Radivojević, Nikolija Nedeljković, Nemanja Vojinović and Miloš Dimić participated at the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students 2017 which was held from 14th to 22nd of October in Sochi, Russian Federation. They had the opportunity to represent Serbian delegation along side with other participants.
The Festival is traditionally held every year. This year it was organized by the Russian Federation with the cooperation of the United Nations. It gathered over 25,000 participants from more than 180 countries of the world.
Participants were welcomed with formal Opening Ceremony held by the President of Russian Federation, Mr. Vladimir Putin, who delivered inspirational speeches to young leaders. Furthermore, the delegates have had the opportunity to attend lectures and panels held by prominent world politicians, such as Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Sergei Lavrov, Director of the Information and Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russian Federation Ms. Maria Zaharova, as well as Executive Director of the Institute for Euro-Asian Studies and former Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Franco Fratini. Inspiring motivational speech was also held by Mr. Nik Vujičić.
The Closing Ceremony was held under the slogan “For Peace, Solidarity and Social Justice. We fight against imperialism. Respecting our past, we are building the future.” Members of the UN Club, with other delegates from the Serbian delegation as well as with other participants, took part in a number of organized forums, panels, workshops and discussions. They presented our country in the best way with the goal of future implementation of positive solutions at the national level. They had the opportunity to learn and work with young people from all over the world, to get in touch with experts from various fields, as well as with numerous artists. They attained new knowledge about the most recent technological achievements and took the unique chance of making new inspiring friendships.
In addition to the educational program, young delegates had the opportunity to be the ambassadors of their countries and present their culture, language and achievements, which was a great honor and a wonderful experience for Natalija, Nikolija, Nemanja and Miloš.
Congratulations to our members for this accomplishment! It is an honor for Republic of Serbia to be presented by the delegation of these young ambitious people, and we are delighted they are part of the United Nations Club of University of Belgrade Faculty of Law.
